Long Time No See- Lots of Changes!

Why Helloooo Everyone!!!
I have not posted or even been on here for the longest time! I apologize to all of my readers for that! I've been thinking about this blog all day and I came up with a few things to change, and I'm letting you all know about them right now!
Ok, so let's begin. My lack of postings has been due partly to the way I looked at this blog. I kind of limited it to an only-OOTD-type blog (the other part has been my summer laziness...). From now on, I will be posting a lot more about my life, which still includes OOTD posts! But I will also do different types of posts. Most of them will probably end up being about how I can't wait to go to college, my dorm room ideas, etc. (One word: Senioritis!!).

The next change is a tad bigger than that last one. I decided to make the blog completely (well, as much as I could) anonymous. I'm not 100% sure if this is better or worse, but I'd like to think that it'll help me be more comfortable in posting different things and, therefore, the blog will become more entertaining for you!

These are the two changes that I've decided to make today to the blog, I hope you all don't mind them! So again I would like to apologize for my absence lately and promise to try a million times harder to keep Style Me Preppy more updated and interesting. If there is anything you all would like to see me post about, feel free to email me! I changed the blog email address (part of the whole anonymity thing) to stylemepreppy@gmail.com. I hope to receive quite a few emails from my readers!!

Outfit of the Day 6

Hey everyone!
My goodness, I have been SERIOUSLY slacking on my blog game lately! I miss this!! I hope you all enjoy this new OOTD as much as I enjoy posting it!

So today I wanted to go super preppy! Lately I've been wearing clothes that aren't as prepster, but more just simple, classic summer clothes. I wore my favorite J Crew shorts that are peach with little embroidered sailboats with a powder blue oxford. As far as the belt, there were a lot of options for this outfit. I wanted to give my usual brown, braided belt a break and wear this one! It is more nautical than my brown one too! Yes, it is very hot and no, this outfit is probably not the greatest weather appropriate outfit for today... Thankfully I was only indoors in air conditioned placed today!! The most summery things about this outfit are my Jack Rogers (that I am completely obsessed with!) and how high I rolled the sleeves. I personally don't like to wear long-sleeved shirts because I just don't feel comfortable in them. Whenever I do wear shirts that have long sleeves, I always cuff & roll them. Today, I rolled my sleeves up a little past my elbow and it definitely kept me cooler than having the sleeves all the way down! Also, I didn't think rolling them this high was a problem, as it looked perfectly normal!
I hope you all do enjoy this one! I'll try to keep the blog more updated than I have been lately! Love you all and hope you leave comments and give feedback!!

Outfit of the Day 5

Hey everyone!
Today was extremely hot here! It was definitely a tank top and shorts day! I wore my navy "dot-tiered" tank top that I adore from J. Crew. I wore it with white shorts (love the way they really bring out my tan) and threw on a pink belt for a pop of color! It was also definitely a Jack Rogers day!!
This morning when I got ready, I was having some trouble figuring out exactly what I wanted to wear. I knew that I wanted my white shorts, but it took a little while to pick out this shirt. I tried on multiple others, but I always go for the navy tank tops! How could you go wrong!? I really think the pink belt added a wonderful "finished" look. As for jewelry, I wore a bunch of my favorite thin bracelets. My Pandora double wrap leather bracelet in "champagne" (you know if the color is called champagne, it's got to be good!!), two silver Alex + Ani bangles I got in Newport, RI last summer that I love, just a simple pearl strand bracelet, and a small black leather/ bead bracelet. I also wore a silver Pandora ring that I wear all the time! It's so simple and can really go with anything. And of course my pearl stud earrings!!
I hope you all enjoyed this very simple, summer outfit of the day! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think!!!

Outfit of the Day 4

Hey everyone!
I am so sorry that I have been posting so rarely lately!! Even though it's summer, I've been pretty busy! I am so excited to post again, though- I missed this!
Here's another OOTD:
I have to say that I do kind of think that this one is a bit of a disappointment too. All of the previous OOTDs had almost no repeats with the clothes. This one, I've already shown you all everything. But I mean, hey, we don't all have a million choices! So here it is!
So I have on my sailboat shorts that I love from J. Crew with the blue and white stripe shirt. This is the shirt that has the zipper on the back! I wore it with my Jack Rogers sandals. I think that this outfit has a very nautical look with the sailboat shorts and striped shirt. Also, I have to say that this small, braided brown belt is my favorite belt because it goes with basically anything. My mom loved this outfit too! Haha. My bracelet is pretty new! It's a Pandora double wrap leather bracelet in "champagne". You know that when the color of something is champagne, it's bound to be gorgeous! I just have one small charm on it (a ball of hearts), but I like the simplicity of it.
That's really all I have to say about that!! If you have any questions about my outfit or about anything pleeeasse post a comment! I'm hoping to have one more post today so make sure you check back later tonight!
I'm also really hoping to get this blog on a roll, so I would love it if you all could really try to spread the word about this! Tell all of your preppy friends! Also one last small thing- if there is anything you all would like to see me post about (I will post pretty much anything you ask!!) leave a comment or email me! I looove getting comments and feedback so don't be shy!
Love you allllll!

Must-Have Jewelry!

Hey everyone,
I apologize for not posting as much as I should have in the past few days. I've been kind of busy and then I could not think of something to post for the life of me until today! Hope you all enjoy!

Last week (maybe it was 2 weeks ago?) I went to an arts festival downtown with my friend. We went kind of late, so a lot of the booths were already closed but we were fortunate enough to find this one jewelry booth! They had the most adorable pieces of jewelry- necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings- and they all had little saying on them, how cute! All of their jewelry is hand stamped with phrases that either are kind of "pre-made" or you can order a specialized one!

I encourage everyone to check out the website at: www.KathrynRiechert.com and/ or http://KathrynRiechert.etsy.com

The ring that I got is just a small silver band that says "BE THE CHANGE". I mentioned it in a former post. This is a picture that I Instagram'd of it when I got it. I absolutely love it and haven't taken it off since I got it.

After looking on their website I found a few other pieces that are must-haves!

This little paw print necklace is adorable! I think if you're an animal lover (like I am) then this is something that you will love. It's small enough to wear everyday or with other necklaces. As awful as this sounds too, I think that if you've had a pooch that recently passed, this would be a great little charm in memory. For any pet lovers though, I think this is perfect

I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!! This necklace is soooo great. I think it's a great inspiration for younger girls. Imagine how awkward the whole middle school age is, and how shy girls can be. This would be an awesome gift for someone that age. Honestly, though, I think it would be a great gift for anyone (including yourself!)! I love how it has an actual bumblebee for the "be brave saying. This is waaayyyy too cute.
Also, you can get this in multiple sayings. It always has the bumblebee but it can say:
(bee) happy
(bee) brave
(bee) true
(bee) strong
let it be

These little seashell earring are not only super adorable, but also pretty preppy- ha! I think that these earring are a summer must-have!

Make sure you all check out the website!! What pieces are your favorites?
xoxo,
L

p.s. If there's anything specific (or at all!) that you would like to see me post about please leave a comment and let me know! I'd be more than happy to write something if you ask!

What Makes YOU Beautiful

Hey everyone!
Wow! So this will be my 2nd post of the night! Gotta catch up for lost time I guess!
So when I saw that Maura from Polos Pearls & Bows tagged me in her post about inner beauty and what makes us beautiful, I thought it was the cutest most inspiring idea. She took the concept of the One Direction song (which will now be stuck in my head for the rest of the night!) and made it into something where we can all share how we're unique and individually beautiful.
The rules are as follows:
1. Name 3 things that make YOU beautiful. This can be anything like hobbies, random talents, attributes, strengths.... anything that makes you unique!!
2. Tag other bloggers :)
3. Have fun and be creative!

What Makes ME Beautiful
1) I get confidence when I row. Being with my team and in a boat is honestly one of the best things for me. When I'm in the boat with a team who I fully, 100% trust, I know that all I need to do is work my hardest and be focused. Having that focus (and seeing it pay off by winning!) gives me confidence. Rowing has also given me more determination than I know what to do with. When I set a goal for myself, there's absolutely nothing that can hold me back from achieving it. I truly love this sport and would encourage everyone to try it out!

2) I recently got this ring that I haven't taken off since I got. It's just a simple silver band and it has "BE THE CHANGE" engraved on it. This quote inspires me to be more proactive in life. I'm naturally pretty shy, but having this constant reminder to be gives me so much more courage. It's a beautiful piece of jewelery with meaning and inspiration.

3) I try my hardest not to judge other people which helps me as a person so much. This helps me be fair to all of the people in my life and those I meet. Sometimes, I'll be surprised at how differently a person is than how I imagined. Being able to try to see the good in everyone really helps me to find my own attributes.

The 'Laine Blogger Award' !!

Hey everyone!
I was so excited today when I saw that the lovely Maura from Polos Pearls & Bows nominated me for the Laine Blogger Award! You all should go see her blog- it's so cute! I'm still so happy and honestly surprised to have this honor! I am relativiely new to the "blogger community" so I am extremely thankful! So thank you a thousand times (& a thousand times more!) to Maura and all of my readers!
xoxo,
L

So this is pretty new to me, but apparently there are rules:

RULES:
  • Tag the blogger who awarded you
  • Award 5 more bloggers

 THE 5 QUESTIONS:
1. What is your current beauty obsession?
2. What is 1 beauty item you wished you owned?
3. What kind of posts are your favorite posts to write, and read?
4. What inspired you to become a blogger?
5. What color nail polish are you wearing right now?

1. My Current Beauty Obsession
My current beauty obsession is definitely the Dior Show Mascara. I got a little travel, sample size from Sephora a while ago and I love it! When I got it, it also came with the white lash primer, which I still use. In the past, I had heard fabulous reviews about how much people love this mascara, but now I can totally agree and would encourage anyone to go out and get it.

2. A Beauty Item I Wished I Owned
Ok, so I'm not 100% sure if this would fall under the category of a "Beauty Item", but I have always wanted to get a Brazilian Blowout! I straighten my hair alot and I think that this would be beneficial in so many ways. It would cut down on the time I had to spend doing my hair in the mornings (especially when I have morning practice for crew and have to shower at school!) and it would lessen the heat damage on my hair! When I get ready and straighten my hair, I'll shower, blowdry my hair, and then straighten it. Although with the new shampoo and conditioner I've started using it seems to be a lot healthier, I still think that having the ease and convenience of a Brazilian Blowout would be fantastic.

3. What Are My Favorite Posts
I would definitely have to say that "Outfit of the Day" posts are my favorite to read and write. I love looking and reading other outfit posts because I think it's a great way to get ideas for my own outfits and little style tips! Not only are they super fun to read, but it makes me so excited to share my fashion tips and my personal style.

4. What Inspired Me To Become A Blogger
So I think that this past year or two for me has been really important for me kind of, "finding myself"- cliche I know, but true. I really found my style and honestly, my voice. I started reading a few blogs (like CGWP and The College Prepster ) and thought that they were so cool. I was amazed at how much authority they had in their blogs and how much they knew! I though that they were so unreal. I still basically worship these two blogs. Reading these, I really wanted to show off my own "life". I wanted to see if people would love my blog as much as these others (which is still to be determined- but I'm so happy with where I am!). I'm so happy that I did create this blog because it's really something that I enjoy.

5. What Color Nail Polish Am I Wearing
My nailpolish right now is called "Peach Daquiri" from Essie. It's a bright berry color and great for summer! It reminds me of the color that Kourtney Kardashian always has her nails. I always think hers look so pretty and bright! (By the way, this picture is not my hand!)

Product Review: Shampoo & Conditioner

Hey everyone,
I'm so sorry that all of a sudden I just completely stopped tweeting, but my account got suspended! I have no idea why and I'm trying to get it back. Until then, I hope you all keep checking back here and seeing what's new with the blog!
Today I thought I would do a "product review". I only thought to do this because the product I'm going to be talking about, I used it and absolutely love it and felt the need to tell everyone about it!

This is the Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. There is also a hydrating treatment product, but I'm only going to review the shampoo and conditioner. My hair was extremely dry from all of the heat I use to style it (hairdryer, straightener) and I also have been getting highlights for a few years, so my hair is pretty dry from that as well. All in all, my hair was bad. Super dry, not smooth, it looked really damaged. My mom brought this shampoo and conditioner home for me to use, as recommended by the woman who does my hair, and I noticed an immediate difference. I thought after the very first time I used it, my hair felt a lot better! But I didn't want to get overly excited, because I thought maybe there's another reason my hair felt smoother. But from then on, I knew it was this shampoo and conditioner. My hair is so much softer, it isn't nearly as dry as it was, and it has more shine to it. After the second time I used it, I straightened my hair and I thought it looked so healthy. Not only did I think that, but both my mom and my sister said how good my hair looked that day! I love love love how this shampoo and conditioner has helped my hair, and will definitely continue to use it.
However, it's not recommended for everyone. If you have very dry, damaged hair (like me) then I would strongly recommend it. If you're hair isn't dry or over-processed, then I would probably say try not to use it because it might make your hair look greasy. My hairstylist told my mom not to use it because her hair wasn't as bad as mine. I'm sure using it once a week would give your hair a healthy boost though!
Have any of you used this shampoo and conditioner before? What do you think of them? What's your favorite shampoo and conditioner?

My Summer Lust List

Hey everyone!
Since it's only the beginning of summer, I still have quite a few things that I want for a fun, preppy summer! I decided to call it my "Lust List" rather than a wish list because let's be honest, I more than just "wish" to have these things. I look them up multiple times a day and blog about them. So with that, I would like to present the Summer 2012 Lust List from Style Me Preppy:

So let's start with the sunglasses in the top right corner! I saw them on jcrew.com and it was love at first sight. They're pretty basic, I guess, but so chic (especially in the tortoise). The headband is from Kiel James Patrick. I love how it's just braided rope- so nautical! The swimsuit is also from J Crew. As much as I love this one, it's a close second to the blue seersucker bikini, but I couldn't get a picture of that one so here's the deck stripe one! This green blazer, my gosh. I saw it in the J Crew catalogue a few months ago and I LOVED how it looked on the model. I forget exactly what kind of shirt she wore it with, but she had on jean shorts which proves how incredibly versatile this blazer is! I think the green is a great summer color as well. I've been searching for a pair of scalloped shorts for a few weeks, and I think these ones make the cut! They're simple, white, and Lilly- what's not to love!? Given my addiction to belts lately, I had to add some on here. All three are from J Crew and I think the yellow and blue ones are fun and bright for summer (although definitely good for all seasons!) and the printed one would be great with a sundress! The phone cases I am more than obsessed with (see my earlier post). They can be found on preppyprincess.com. These earrings are from Kate Spade and way too cute. I think the white ones are my favorite, but the pink and blue are wonderful choices as well!
What's on your summer lust list? Let me know and leave a comment below!!

Outfit of the Day #3

Hey everyone,
All I really did today was go out to lunch with my sister, but I still had to put my outfit on here!

I wore a blue and white striped shirt from J Crew. This shirt has a zipper on the top of the back and it has been my go-to shirt since I bought it. I love the way it fits and it looks great with basically anything. My yellow skirt is also from J Crew. I think it's super cute and they also have them in a few other colors. I personally really like the white one they have too. I put on my typical small, brown, braided belt and I really like how it looks with this outfit. Of course I wore my new Jack Rogers sandals (just got them yesterday!). I got the silver shiny ones, it was either these ones or the navy and white ones. I think the navy and white ones will be my next Jack Rogers purchase! I also wore a simple yellow bangle just to add a little something. I'm not really a huge jewelery person, but I always wear my pearl earrings, a gold, heart necklace (it was my grandma's), and then I usually try to wear a bracelet of some sort and a ring.
Anyway, I like how this outfit has a nautical kind of look with the shirt. What's your favorite nautical, preppy piece of clothing? Leave a comment below!!

Too Cute iPhone Cases!

Hey everyone,
I just came across these today and had to share them! These iPhone cases couldn't get preppier, cuter, etc. I'm going to have a hard time choosing which one I want; I may need all of them!
 http://www.preppyprincess.com/thepreppyplanetbottomlinephonecase.aspx
Preppy Princess has a ton of prep must-haves. From jewelery to stationary, there is truly everything on this site!

My favorites are all of the ones from the "G.T.H" collection, but they have a bunch of different designs. The seersucker ones are too cute! But wait- it gets better! These cases can be monogrammed! You can choose from three different personalization styles and two or three initials. Not only are they super cute, but they are super affordable! At only $24.50 there's no reason not to get one. Right now I have a JCrew blue paisley case on my iPhone, but that might change very soon! Which one is your favorite?

What's On My Summer Playlist

Hey everyone,
We all have that go-to playlist, right? Especially for summer, having the right music is essential. I thought I'd share with you what is currently on my summer playlist. I hope you all like country!
1) Lights by Ellie Goulding
I came across this song on Pandora and bookmarked it within 30 seconds. It's a little different than most other songs, but I absolutely LOVE it.
2)Only One by Sammy Adams
So this is pretty classic teenage girl music, I know. But come on, this Boston's Boy single is the perfect summer song. Great for driving around with friends.
3)Somethin' 'Bout a Truck by Kip Moore
Here comes the country. This song is SO amazing. Not too much more to say about it other than another perfect summer song.
4)Country Girl (Shake It for Me) by Luke Bryan
Oh Luke Bryan...
5)Drunk On You by Luke Bryan
"Drunk on you and high on summertime" I don't think I could find a more appropriate song for summer if I tried. (Maybe that's a lie, but come on, it's Luke Bryan).
6)So Good by B.o.B.
I know this is either a hit or miss song for people, but in my book it is definitely a hit. I've played it on repeat for entire car rides....
7)All-American Girl by Carrie Underwood
This song is the epitome of being an American girl. Super sweet, feel-good music. Carrie Underwood is such a sweetie (she's also gorgeous!).
8)Shore Thing by Luke Bryan
This song probably describes spring break to a T. Beaches, drinking, friends, parties- sounds a lot like a summer from a movie, right!?
9)Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye
I'm sure eeeeeveryone has heard this song by now. It might be a bit overplayed, but I don't listen to the radio too often so I get the perfect dose of it (: Wonderful sing-a-long if I may say so myself.
10)Dog Days Are Over by Florence + The Machine
This one kind of reminds me of Lights (1st song on list), and I love it. It's super catchy and just puts me in a good mood.
11)Keep Me In Mind by Zac Brown Band
Another wonderful country song that puts me in a great mood. It's a fun song (typical Zac Brown Band) and is really cute.
12)Wavin Flag by K'naan
I know that this song is "so last year", but let me just say that I have enjoyed this song long before it was played as the FIFA song. This is a legitimately great song, with meaning, that will never get old.

I hope you all enjoy my taste in music! And I'm sure you can all tell my obsession with Luke Bryan (I'm going to see him in August!! Can't wait!!!!) What's on your summer playlist? Any questions or comments? Leave a comment under here and I'll get back to you!

Outfit of the Day #2

Hey everyone!
So first off, I would like to thank all of the anons on Twitter for helping me out and telling your followers about this blog! The page views yesterday spiked like crazy, and I'm so thankful. And thank you also to everyone who is reading this!
Let's get to the OOTD for today....

Today I'm just going around town running errands (We're having a bridal shower on Sunday for my brother's fiancee- lots to do!). I have on a new pair a J Crew shorts, they're peach with little sail boats on them.  I love all of their shorts with the little patterns/ embroidered things on them. I also have anchor ones- too cute! My white oxford is also from J Crew. It's pretty relaxed fitted so it's a little more casual. And of course, I never wear a collared shirt without popping the collar (prep rules, right?).  Also, I can't go without a belt, but I had some difficutly finding a belt that looked just right. I tried on this peachy-pink one and loved it. I like the similarity with the color of the belt and shorts, it's almost a step up from the classic brown belt. I'm also sporting my Kiel James Patrick sailor bracelet.  As for shoes, I'll probably just wear a pair of Sperry's.  I'm actually planning on getting either new Sperry's or Jack Rogers today!
If you have questions or comments, I'd love to hear them!! Leave a comment under the post and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Organize Me!- Closet

Hey everyone!
Today, on my first official Monday of summer, I decided to clean out and organize my closet. This was not a small task.  My closet couldn't have been more disorganized. However, having just finished my project for the day, I feel like I have just accomplished something huuuge. Here are some pictures of my newly organized closet along with some tips that I used to keep everything together and easy to access.
So to start off, I'll break my closet into two sides: Side 1 and Side 2 (see below)

Side 2
Side 1

Before I organized everything, I only used Side 1 of my closet. There were a bunch of old toys, pictures, my sister's old stuff, and just some completely random things that I never used. So I started by cleaning out everything in my closet that I never use and pulled out all of the old clothes. There are shelves on each side of my closet too, so I decided what I wanted to fold and put on the shelves and made a list.

These are the shelves on Side 1. On this side, I have my shorts, pants, polo's, sweaters, school uniform, and skirts folded. Shorts, pants, and skirts obviously because it might be kind of tricky to hang them up; Polo's and sweaters because I hate how hangers stretch out the sleeves. Although this was probably unnecessary, I felt like it made it that much more organized, so I made little labels on the shelves for where everything went (not that I wouldn't be able to look at this and know where my shorts went!)
Here's a closer look:

You can see the label that says "Shorts"

I think I could use some more Sperry's...
My whole idea of organizing my closet actually came from wanting shelves or racks for my shoes. My mom picked these ones up from Target and they're pretty simple, but very useful. I got two, one for each side of my closet! I put the shoes that I wear most often on Side 1 because it's the side that I'm used to going to to get clothes.

I have the other shoe rack on Side 2. I put my boots in between the two racks because they didn't exactly fit too well on the racks.  Now let's move on to the top of my closet...

I had some old basket/ bins that I wanted to use, so I put them on the top shelf of my closet and I used one bin for scarves (which I'll be honest, I don't wear very often) and the other one for hats & gloves (which I don't wear very often either- but they're important to have anyway!). I also used an old shoe box (the brown Ugg box to the right of the bins) for my belts. I used to hang them on a hanger, but it was just annoying and I thought that I would like this way better.  In between the two bins are just some old bags; a Kate Spade bag because they're so cute, a JCrew bag because I could definitely use it for something, and some other reusable canvas bags.
Next to the shoebox with my belts, I just put folded up blankets, and my duffel bags that I use for traveling.
On Side 2, there's really not much difference.  On these shelves, I have my athletic shorts, tank tops (they always fall off hangers), spandex (what I wear for crew), and sweat pants. I put these things on the bottom two shelves and then put my bags & purses on the top shelf.
I put all of my smaller purses inside of my bigger tote bags to save some space.
I hope you all enjoyed my tips & tricks of how I organized my closet! Do you have any secret tricks you use to organize yours? Any questions about something I didn't mention? Leave a comment below and I'll be more than happy to get back to you about it!

Outfit of the Day

Hey everyone!
I'm sorry to be posting so late tonight, but my summer sleeping schedule has definitely set in! I've been thinking about some "traditions" to start on here, and I though I would make "Outfit of the Day" posts. So they may not be new everyday, but I'll certainly try to get them up here at least every other day.
Let's start with today, shall we?
Let me start off by saying that I made an awesome Word document with graphics and everything for this first "Outfit of the Day", but when I went to upload it on here I realized that I can't upload documents and I couldn't save it as a picture file, so I resorted to using the good 'ole iPhone app to upload the picture of my outfit.
Anyway, on to the good stuff.  I went out to dinner tonight, just with my family, and although it wasn't exactly 90 degrees today, I was still pretty comfortable in a tank top and skirt.  I wore a navy "dot tiered" tank top from J Crew that I just bought a few days ago. I absolutely love it! It fits perfectly and what's not to love about navy!? I paired it with a J Crew skirt that I got last year.  I'm not completely sure how to describe the fabric, but I would say it's almost like a chambray kind of skirt.  It goes with basically anything and is super classic.  I've been really into belts lately, and thought that I would add a little bit of color to my otherwise dark and boring outfit.  I liked the pop of the bright pink with the navy.  The belt is patent leather from, guess where, J Crew.
In case you couldn't tell, my favorite store is J  Crew.  Most of my clothes are from there, but I'll let you all know of where I buy everything in case you're wondering.
Ah, and I almost forgot! Shoes!! I forgot to take a picture of my sandals, but I just wore flat roman sandals with some silver beading.  I desperately need new shoes or sandals or anything!  With this outfit though, I think that almost any shoe would work.  I would probably stick with a neutral color though, like silver, nude, brown, or something of those sorts. You could do a flat, sandal, or heels, depending on the occasion.
I hope you all enjoyed the first of many "Outfit of the Day" post!! Please, please, please leave comments, ask questions, tell me something about yourselves! I'm really hoping that you all like my blog, and I'd love to hear anything you have to say! If there is anything specific you'd like to see me post about just leave a comment and I'll do my best to get it up here.

Happy Summer!!

Hey everyone!
So as its June 1st, I can say that summer has OFFICIALLY started (for me at least)! Today was my last day of school and so now I can be in full "blog mode". I'm hoping to post on here everyday throughout the summer! If you have any specific requests of what you would like to see on here, leave a comment so I can try my best to improve my blog! My summer goal to is expose my blog a lot more and have it gain popularity- please remember to tell your friends (or anyone!)
For the beginning of summer I'm spending my weekend in Deep Creek, MD. I was here last weekend and it was absolutely gorgeous for a great Memorial Day weekend! Unfortunately today it was rainy and gray, but hopefully it will clear up for tomorrow.
What are you doing this summer? Have you made a "summer bucket list" yet? As of now, I really don't have many plans. I might go to a rowing camp at the Naval Academy, but I'm not certain. If you're a high school girl and want to check it out, heres the link:

I will definitely be training at home all summer though, and try to get my 2k down (crew talk! for anyone who knows what I mean). I am also taking a few college visits and working on college essays (stressful!).
Of course, though, this summer is going to be so much fun! I'm going to some concerts with my friends and hopefully going to the beach!

Here's to summer 2012!!!

Day Off

Hi everyone!
So today I had a day off of school and went running around town doing errands. I wore a pretty casual, summer-y outfit. The navy tank top has some fabric textures at the top (which I tried to include in the top side frame). I tucked it into checkered shorts with a pretty simple brown, braided belt. I just wore Sperry's (I'm in the market for some summer sandals!) and let my hair down. I also wore my Pandora bracelet, which I wear almost everyday- I love it! The weather today was absolutely perfect for a tank top and shorts, I even had lunch at a restaurant and it wasn't too chilly.
I hope you all enjoy! Any questions or comments (which I would absolutely love!) please feel free to leave on here. I'm spending this lovely Memorial Day weekend in Deep Creek,Maryland so I'm hoping to take a bunch of pictures that I can post on here. If I don't get a chance to post pictures, I will most definitely write about something!
Also, if you have anything you would like to see me post or something you would like to ask me, please do!! Tell your friends to come check this out and spread the word!

Nautical Accessories

I recently found this website, thanks to my best friend, and have been OBSESSED with it.  I'm completely in love with everything that this company is.

www.kieljamespatrick.com

They make nautical, sailor bracelets as well as belts, headbands, and earrings.  I think that all of their products are super cute, and would make amazing gifts.
I just got the eight-knot bracelet that is red and white, and I love it! It's a great accessory to add that extra level of "prep".  Also, they do a fantastic job packaging the product (they all come in navy boxes with the company's logo and a little rope tied around it and paper inside that is printed with old maps).
As always let me know what you think- I love comments! And remember to keep checking back and tell your friends too.

Just Couldn't Help Myself

So maybe creating this blog while procrastinating doing actual work was a bad idea...but since I started there's no going back.

In light of the recent (about 5 minutes ago recent) creation of this blog, I couldn't help myself from taking a snapshot of what I'm wearing to post on here.  I hope you all enjoy my first outfit post!
I was having some difficulty taking the picture b/c my room doesn't have a full length mirror but I included the headband I'm wearing in the collage.  Also, please ignore my tan/burn lines! I sat outside a little too long yesterday.

p.s. As always please leave comments!! I appreciate all of the feedback I can get!
